SPI for Shell on the 20” Corrib Gas land line. Land fall near Bellmullet Co Mayo Republic of Ireland.
Duties included reviewing NDT and Welding Procedures, monitoring contractor in all aspects of pipeline construction and reporting .
Vetting Inspection and welding personnel.
Responsible for final acceptance of Radiographs and NDT reports.

Company Representative based in Colico, Italy for J Ray Mcdermott on the Ras Gas offshore expansion project.
Duties include visiting vendors employed in the production of valves varying in size from 2.1/16" to 38" 5000#
Involved in the initial forging, internal overlay of components with Inconel 625, machining and the final testing of valves.
Resident Company Representative at Acciaieria Fonderia Cividale, at Cividale Del Friuli Italy involved in the casting of 28” class 5000 valve bodies, this involved monitoring all heat treatment, mechanical testing, excavation and repair of defects, weld repair procedure qualification, and inspection of repaired areas for final acceptance.
Resident Inspector at the Dresser Grove Facility at Vogehera Italy. NDT , Assembly , Testing of 1” 2500 class Inconel 825 Ball valves, and 9” 5000 class forged body and closure ball valves.
Witnessed NDT testing on tungsten carbide coated components , Ball and Metal Seats.
Forged bodies and closures overlaid with Inconel 625 had PMI carried out to determine Fe content, overlay thickness checked, finally NDT on components by DP testing, assembly then Factory Acceptance Test to an approved procedure.

Allseas Site Rep at various sites connected to the Corrib project, looking after the manufacture and testing programme for the onshore and prototype offshore umbilical for the Enterprise Oil and Bord Gas Erieann Corrib Project, at Nexans Hallden Norway.
Visited contractors in Germany to carry out welding procedures then on to Italy for the manufacture and testing of two 20" fully welded 345 bar ball valves, following the valve manufacture from the forging of the components, machining, Inconel 625 overlay to the Factories Acceptance Test.

Representing SHL at the Erndtebrück Eisenwerk facility Germany, for the
fabrication of ten 29 meter piles with anchor pad eyes for the extension
of Monaco harbour.
Main welding process used was Submerged arc for the welding of the
longitudinal and circumferential seams for the cans, which made up the
piles, the pad eyes were welded using manual Flux core.
Dealing with contractor and client, ensuring all documentation in place
for final acceptance.

preservation prior to installation .
Welding Procedure Qualifications including Mechanical testing. Radiographic interpretation.
Liaison between main contractor SCS their sub contractor R&M Engineering and Phillips Petroleum,
Norway.

Based at Logstor Ror, Logstor Denmark. Monitoring production of pipe in pipe insulation work for the Amerada Hess
/ Stolt Comex Seaway Triton project.
Scope of work involved placing a 12" line pipe inside an 18" carrier pipe then injecting foam insulation between the carrier pipe and the line pipe.
A backing strip was then welded inside the carrier pipe to allow a half shell to be fitted during pipelay operations.
Involved in initial welding procedure qualifications, welder qualifications, foaming qualifications.
Answering site queries as they arose and generally dealing with all matters concerning the project.

Part of the Project Management Team, specifically dedicated to QC on all aspects of construction of a Catenary Anchor Leg Rigid Arm Mooring
(CALRAM). A Rotary Tanker facility, under construction for BHP Petroleum, formally Hamilton oil.
Monitoring activities relating to the installation and testing of the Electrical and Instrumentation requirements.
Fabrication carried out at the Brown and Root Highland Fabricators Yard, Nigg Bay, Scotland.
Also involved in QA audits at various vendors and the day to day running of a busy site office.

Duties involved monitoring construction of TLU 2 Mooring Buoy ,client BP Columbia, on behalf of the project design company, Bluewater Engineering.
This involved the monitoring of all activities during fabrication, including the testing of the umbilical according to the Inspection and Test Plan.
Dealing with design queries as they arose, either answering site queries myself or in conjunction with design team.
Visits to various sites as expediter.

Lorelay, fabricating the pipe spool for the ST1 Lassmo Markam Platform Sub Sea connection.
Preparation of all documentation regarding this pipework for final acceptance by Lloyds.
Running welder qualification tests and weld procedures using the permanent arc monitoring system.
Responsible for QC on the fabrication of two 24" Pig Launchers and Receivers
Carried out dimensional surveys at various locations in Holland.

VERLOME BOTLEK SHIP DRY DOCK
During this period I was employed as QC co-ordinator, ensuring the adherence of several contract companies to their own quality plans and to that of
Verlome.
The Sedco Forex Sedneth 701 has been in the dry dock for the purpose of extending the existing living/ messing facilities, installation of a third mud pump, four new mud pits, new crane pedestal and cone and two new life boat platforms. The scope of work also included numerous pipe work projects both high pressure and low pressure and a survey of all connections of the platform structure.
Inspections were carried out on all the above, at various stages and prior to final inspection by Clients Rep and American Bureau of Shipping Surveyor.
